SWINDON’S Bank Holiday Monday showdown with Ipswich at the Abbey will also be their 70th anniversary celebration.

The club have arranged extra activities for fans of all ages on a night which is sure to pull in a bumper crowd.

Both the CFS Filtration Robins and Ipswich are in the play-off frame and a win for the home side will help them in their bid to finish top of the table.

Club co-promoter Lee Kilby said: “It’s all building up to Monday very nicely for us and what better way to spend part of your Bank Holiday than by enjoying live motorsport in the evening at the Abbey.

“This club has a wonderful history and when you roll off the names of many of the riders down the years it underlines what a fantastic club it is.

“We want Monday to be a night of celebration – but we also need Alun (Rossiter) and the boys to get the three points on the board against a tough Ipswich side.”

Added attractions include:

Face painting and 'Where's Wosco' picture hunt, sweets giveaway for the kids, an old bike demonstration, former riders parade and autograph session, memorabilia presentation and a racejacket auction following heat 15 in the middle bar.

Racing starts at 7.30.
