SWINDON round off their home league campaign against Peterborough on Thursday – and they’re gunning for a top of the table finish (7.30).

But they’ll have to do it without popular Pole Tobiasz Musielak who has been called up for an FIM international event in Russia.

Former Abbey favourite Nick Morris has been booked as cover in a move which is sure to go down well with CFS Filtration Robins fans.

Club owner Terry Russell has also revealed his delight at crowd levels at the Abbey.

“We’ve seen good numbers supporting the team over the last week and it’s appreciated,” he said.

“We hammered Ipswich on Monday. I am still trying to work out whether it was because we were so good or because they were so bad. Perhaps a bit of both.

“Now we need to keep it going against Peterborough who have riders who can go well around our track.”

Russell is also calling on fans to pledge to join the scheme where a full season of speedway at the Abbey can be paid in instalments over 12 months.

“I need to see the level of support to underpin the club going forward,” he said. “I have health issues and I’m not sure how much longer I can remain as committed as I am, so we need to get this club in good shape to move forward into the future.

“And by joining the scheme, the more successful the team are the greater value it is as you pay one monthly instalment with no extra charges for Cup of Play-off meetings.”

YOU can call 01793 384111, text “interested” to 07968 123406 or email info@swindon-speedway. By signing up you are taking steps along the line for a great deal and helping to ensure the club’s future.
