THURSDAY PREVIEW

Wednesday September 04, 2019
SWINDON continue their push to top the Premiership standings ahead of the play-offs when they head to Ipswich on Thursday (7.30).

Alun Rossiter’s men have three away meetings remaining with vital points on the line – but closest rivals Poole, the reigning champions, have meetings in hand at home.

Ipswich have hit a wall lately after enjoying a stunning return to the Premiership this season but only last week bolstered their side with the addition of Grand Prix star Niels-Kristian Iversen.

CFS Filtration Robins boss Alun Rossiter says Swindon fans have a lot to look forward to in the remaining weeks of an exciting season.

“We’ve got the push for top spot, we’ve got the Cup Final against Belle Vue and we’ve got the play-offs, it’s all to race for,” he said.

“We know Ipswich have suffered some bad results lately and we’ll go there looking for the away win but we cannot underestimate them.

“We have to target four more league points but we also know what a vital meeting this is for them. It’s going to be a tough one.”

In a big night for the Premiership, Poole face Wolves and Peterborough are at home to Belle Vue with the race for the top four hotting up.

IPSWICH: Niels-Kristian Iversen, Cameron Heeps, Chris Harris, Richard Lawson, Danny King, James Sarjeant, Jake Allen.
SWINDON: Jason Doyle, Adam Ellis, Rasmus Jensen, Tobiasz Musielak, Troy Batchelor, Ellis Perks, Claus Vissing.
