SWINDON Speedway can now confirm their annual press and practice session will take place on Wednesday March 18.
CFS Filtration Robins will return to the Abbey for the first time since winning the Premiership title against Ipswich on an unforgettable night back in October.
All seven riders alongside the management team will meet the media at 3pm before official photographs are taken on the centre green at around 4pm.
Track action will commence at 5pm with turnstiles open to supporters until practice draws to a conclusion at around 6.15pm.
The club can also reluctantly confirm that talks with Polish giants Leszno over a potential friendly meeting at Blunsdon have broken down.
Co-promoter Lee Kilby said: “We're a little disappointed that we haven't been able to reach a conclusion with Leszno to stage home and away fixtures, but it wasn't for the want of trying from both clubs.
“There are so many factors that affect such meetings and logistically it isn't straightforward, especially at such a busy time of the year for all the riders.
“It is a shame we couldn't quite get there this year but it is something we have both agreed we'd like to arrange in the future.
“Our focus now shifts to our press and practice day and planning for our season opener.â€
The opening official fixture of the season takes place on Thursday March 26 (7.30) when King’s Lynn are the visitors to the Abbey as the CFS Filtration Robins begin their defence of the Premiership Supporters’ Cup.
