ROBINS ICON LAUNCHES TITLE CHALLENGE

Thursday August 27, 2020
SWINDON skipper Jason Doyle launches his bid for a second world title this weekend.

Aussie ace Doyle lifted the sport’s ultimate prize almost three years ago in Melbourne – the last time the Grand Prix series went there.

Now the 2020 series will be run over eight rounds at four different venues starting at Wroclaw in Poland on Friday with round two the following night.

And the Robins icon insists he has the belief to win it again, particularly after hitting form in recent meetings in Poland and Sweden.

“Of course I believe I can do it again,” he said. “I wouldn’t be in the series if I didn’t have that belief.

“I know how tough it is but I know what it takes to win the title. I’ve got great memories of 2017 and I want to achieve it all over again.

“It will be tough for sure but I’m feeling pretty good right now and I’ll go into every round to give it my very best.”

The series will move on to Gorzow, also in Poland, on September 11 and 12, Prague on September 18 and 19 and ends in Torun on October 2 and 3.

Swindon’s programme publishers have also produced a 52 page Grand Prix Guide with racecards to follow the series which will be shown live on BT Sport. This can be ordered from curtis-sport.com and includes an in-depth Doyle feature with an interview and stunning images.

Four riders are already through to next year’s series with new European Champion Robert Lambert and GP Challenge qualifiers Matej Zagar, Oliver Berntzon and Krysztof Kasprzak.

Both Friday and Saturday meetings start at 6pm UK time.
