AUSSIE ACE – COUNT ME IN

Thursday December 17, 2020
JORDAN Stewart has sent a ‘count me in’ message to Swindon bosses for next season.

With continued uncertainty over team strengths in the Premiership next spging, Aussie ace Stewart is keen to make his Robins debut as a new signing.

Boss Alun Rossiter is remaining calm about team plans and knows he will need to replace the retired Ellis Perks.

Stewart will again be based in the UK and will also race for Redcar at Championship level.

But he’s keen to remain part of the plans at the Abbey Stadium as Robins look to defend their league and cup double.

“I’m hoping Swindon give me a chance to ride for them next season,” he said. “There’s a lot of talk about points limits being changed and less riders being available due to Poland restricting riders from competing in too many leagues but I’m 100% committed to doing both leagues in England.

“Hopefully the opportunity that Swindon gave me at the start of the year is still there as it’s a great club looking in from the outside.

“I would love to wear the Robins race jacket and do a job for the team and their fans.

“I can’t tell you how frustrating it was to have all my dreams of riding in the Premiership taken away when the season was suspended. Everything was ready to go.

“But things are starting to look a lot better now and I personally can’t wait to get in the Swindon team and show Rosco what I can do.”
