SWINDON Speedway would like to offer our congratulations and best wishes to one of our key volunteers Rod Ford, affectionately known as 'Punch'.
Punch today celebrates his 80th birthday and club bosses have paid tribute to him on his special day.
Robins Director Steve Park said: "Punch is the kind of character who makes speedway clubs tick, his devotion to Swindon Speedway is quite remarkable.
"I know we are biased, but I really do believe we have the best band of volunteers at the club and Punch is a major part of that.
"The club relies on Punch and all the team who devote hours and hours at the stadium, not just on race night.
"Everyone at the club wishes Punch a very happy birthday and we look forward to seeing him soon." Park is also pleased to see a roadmap issued by Boris Johnson which looks set to provide time for a full league season.
"It was very pleasing to see," he said. "And whilst we will be missing out on the 2021 season Swindon Speedway would like to send out very best wishes to all the clubs taking part this year."
